Hello all and thank you for "tuning in", it has been a while but I'm back!

Where do I begin?

I returned home to Polkton, NC for a couple months where I worked with my dad at our family hunting club, Buchanan Shoals Sportsman Preserve in Sneedsboro, NC.  While working there I had numerous duties ranging from practicing controlled burns for understory growth to running a tractor and discing, fertilizing, planting and spraying herbicide for food plots to help benefit wildlife.  I thoroughly enjoyed being back in the Carolina's and spending time with my family, girlfriend and dog.  Spending time at the beach and Lake Tillery will never fail to cause one to crease their face in a smile.  While I enjoyed being home and being around the people and things I truly love(there will never be a place like home) I felt a desire, a calling, so to say, to return to NYC and fully pursue my dreams.  My first venture to NYC I was a shy and guarded boy in a big city.  This time around I'm going to "sell out", to quote a good friend of mine, for I feel as if the first months I was in NYC I sold myself short.  I am going to fully pursue modeling, acting, song writing, poetry and I might even try to get a book published.

I'm back!  As soon as my plane touched down in La Guardia I felt a great weight lift off my shoulders.  While I dearly love N.C. and everyone that are a part of my life there, to pursue the dreams and goals I have set in my life I must be here in NYC.  This time around I will not faulter nor fail and if failure does occur, which it will, it will only make me a stronger person.  Today, Monday, June 13th 2011 was my first day back in action.  I had a photoshoot with a great photographer in Nikolai De Vera and his team(two stylists and a make-up artist).  One of the stylists on set today was from Kinston, N.C. and has been living in Manhattan for 6 years, can you say small world?  We did 4 amazing looks and I received nothing but positive reinforcement about my performance as Nikolai and I clicked as a photographer-model team.  I will share images from the shoot once I receive them.    Speaking of a small world, I ran into two friends of mine from Charlotte, Mike Press and Michael Capella, on the same block within 30 seconds of one another in Manhattan.  What are the odds?  They must be a billion to one!  After my shoot I went to a casting call for an underwear shoot with a company called Mugler.  I have also received news that I'll be attending a casting call tomorrow for a magazine called Psychology Today so, as I always say, keep your fingers crossed for me.

That is all for now.  Read below for song lyrics and a poem of mine.  The images at the top of the post are from my winter shoots with Sean Watters and Ryan Mikail.  I'd also like to note that a member of my family passed away while I was at home, our cat Sassy.  She was a part of our family for 15+ years and followed my Mom around like a lost puppy.  She will truly be missed.

Song: "Dixie Dreaming"

Young and wild are the hearts of spring
Hot with new life, sing baby sing
Dance to the tune like a Gemini in June
You can find us playing in an open wheat field
Or under our oak tree begging time to yield
Me and my girl, we’re Dixie dreaming
I’m day to day and she plans ahead
She always busy but I make her play instead
I’m a business man and she’s a flower child
Man she’s pretty when I’ve got her riled
We have our differences but me and my baby
We’re Dixie dreaming
We met in the spring, our favorite time of year
Her freckles were showing like a newborn deer
She’s the young and I’m the wild pieced together
No better feeling than when we’re tethered
Yeah baby there’s no one to stop us now
Hearts burnin’ hot and sweat on our brow
It’s easy to see that me and my girl
We’re Dixie dreaming
There’s nothing about us that’s short and sweet
Come on baby can ya take the heat?
It’s something out of a book or fairytale
Come with me baby lets set sail
Help me find the answers I seek
And it don’t matter if we’re awake or asleep
Me and my girl, we’re Dixie dreaming

Poem: Untitled

Draw your sword against the deceitful hoard
Blade glistening in the shining sun
Seek your peace but there is none
Cut and slice at the threatening thought
Sorry, my friend, peace can't even be bought
Flimsily flailing in the summer wind
Out with the children playing pretend
Eventually the wind dies and so does the illusion
And so the past presents the future with its bloody contusion
That's the way it is because this is how its always been
Good and truth treaded over by lies and sin
Watch, Watch! Say the idle good men
And that's all it takes, snickers the dark
Stab then twist the sword through their hearts
